Billing, Payments & Refunds

This page explains how Naian charges for services, what happens when you cancel, and under what conditions refunds are issued. For legal terms of service, see our Terms of Service.
1. Website Hosting Plan Billing
Monthly Plans
Monthly plans are billed on the same calendar date each month (the date you activated the plan). Payment is due in advance. If a payment fails, your account enters a 5-day grace period. After that, hosting and email services are suspended until the outstanding balance is settled. You may cancel monthly plans at any time with 30 days notice. No partial-month refunds are issued — your plan stays active through the end of the period you paid for.
Monthly plans do not include free website design. If you requested a website build on a monthly plan, a separate one-time design fee applies ($897 for Seed / $1497 for Evolve / $2497 for Lead), invoiced separately before work begins. The design fee may be split into 3 monthly installments ($299 / $499 / $833 respectively).
Annual Plans
Annual plans are billed in full at activation. This single payment covers 12 months of hosting, domain registration, and email, and unlocks the free website design offer for your plan's page tier. Annual plans represent a 12-month commitment and are non-refundable except as described in Section 3.
2. Early Cancellation of Annual Plans
If you cancel an annual plan before the 12-month term is complete, the following applies:
Early Cancellation Formula
If a free website was built under your annual plan and you cancel before 12 months are complete, you will be charged:
- Monthly rate × months used — retroactively calculated at the standard monthly rate for your plan (Seed $79/mo, Evolve $139/mo, Lead $269/mo)
- One-time website design fee — the published design fee for your plan tier ($897 / $1497/ $2497), since the free design was conditional on completing the 12-month term
- Less your annual payment already made — your original annual payment is credited against the total owed
Example: Evolve plan ($1390/yr), cancelled at month 6. Monthly rate × 6 = $834. Design fee = $1497. Total obligation = $2331. You already paid $1390. Additional amount owed = $941. If no website was built under the plan, only the retroactive monthly rate applies — no design fee is charged.
If no website was built under your plan and you cancel early, you are only responsible for the retroactive monthly billing for months used, less your annual payment. If the monthly total is less than your annual payment (which may occur in the first few months), no additional charge is applied but no refund is issued for the unused portion.
Domain registration fees and any email provisioning costs incurred during the active period are non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing.
3. Refund Eligibility
Annual Hosting Plans
- Within 48 hours of activation and before design kickoff: Full refund, less domain registration costs if already incurred.
- After design kickoff or after 48 hours: No refund. The plan converts to the early cancellation calculation described in Section 2.
Monthly Hosting Plans
Monthly plans are non-refundable once a billing period has started. You may cancel at any time, and service continues through the end of the paid period. No partial refunds for unused days.
Consulting Engagements
- Fixed-scope projects are invoiced on a milestone schedule: 30% deposit at signing, 40% at project midpoint, and 30% upon delivery. Payment plans are available for projects over $50,000 — contact us before signing.
- Sprint-based engagements are billed per sprint (typically 2-week cycles) in advance of each sprint beginning.
- Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced or client materials and system access have been reviewed.
- The Clarity assessment is subject to a conditional money-back guarantee as described in Terms of Service Section 5. Outside of that guarantee, the deposit is non-refundable once the assessment has begun.
- If Naian cancels an engagement before delivery for reasons within Naian's control, any unearned portion of payment will be refunded within 10 business days.
4. Payment Methods & Schedules
Naian accepts payment via major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and ACH bank transfer. Invoices for consulting engagements are issued by email and are due within 7 days unless otherwise specified in the engagement agreement. Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month.
For annual hosting plans, automatic renewal occurs 7 days before your plan anniversary. You will receive a reminder email 14 days before renewal. To prevent renewal, cancel before the 7-day window opens.
5. Billing Disputes
If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge at the email below. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. We ask that you contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your payment provider — unresolved chargebacks may result in service suspension. Disputes resolved in your favor are refunded within 10 business days.
6. Plan Upgrades & Downgrades
You may upgrade your plan at any time. The price difference is prorated for the remaining days in your current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If downgrading results in a page count reduction below your current website scope, no content will be removed automatically — you will be notified and given 30 days to adjust.
7. Taxes
Taxes are calculated based on the price of the service or product purchased and your location at the time of billing. Applicable taxes will be itemized on your invoice or shown at checkout. All invoices include full company information and can be used for your own tax records and deductions.
